Performance Proposal Submission Directions

  • Accepted performance formats include:
  1. Recital - (25 minutes) performance by a single performer or ensemble that features music of one or more composers. The time limit includes set-up and tear-down.
  2. Lecture Recital - (25 minutes) includes delivery, discussion, and/or questions as appropriate. Lecture-recitals present scholarship in combination with a live performance component. Lecture-recitals differ from performances in that a minimum of 50% (12.5 minutes) of the presentation time must be dedicated to speaking.

  • Complete performance proposal submissions include:
  1. First and last names of all performers
  2. Email addresses for all performers
  3. Download the 2026 National Conference PERFORMANCE Template to your computer, amend by typing over example text therein, save as a Word document, and upload as the "Program" attachment below
  4. Audio/video of actual or representative work(s), uploaded as a single file
  • Professors/instructors, retired faculty, associates, and students may submit a proposal for an individual or ensemble recital or lecture recital not to exceed 25 minutes in length
  • All accepted wind and percussion performers must be active, associate, retired, or student members of NACWPI for the current March 1, 2025 - February 28, 2026 NACWPI membership period
  • All accepted performers, including accompanists and other supporting musicians, must preregister for the 2026 NACWPI National Conference
  • Proposers agree to perform on any day of the conference should their proposal be accepted
  • Proposal submissions of any and all types are limited to two per individual
  • Proposers must submit their own work and may not submit proposals on behalf of their students or colleagues, except of course, in the case of proposals where there are multiple performers - primary and secondary will be designated in the proposal submission process
  • NACWPI does not fund travel expenses of accepted performers, nor provide accompanists or musical equipment beyond a piano
  • Proposals of a commercial nature that promote products and services will not be considered
  • Proposals must be uploaded on or before December 15, 2025, 11:59PM (CST) using the online form below
  • Performance proposal submissions will be peer-reviewed by a committee of NACWPI members
  • The primary performer will be notified of acceptance via email on or near January 15, 2026
